I’ve recently fallen in love with different biscuits – that is not the traditional choc-chip varieties. As such, I’ve been experimenting with different combinations and found a delicious hazelnut macaroon concoction. It is dead easy and very tasty.

Combine 1 cup of hazelnut meal, ½ a cup of sugar, a few drops of vanilla essence and an egg yolk in a bowl and stir vigorously. Once a paste is formed, roll small spoonfuls of the mixture into balls and place on a lined baking tray. Pop them in the oven for 10 minutes, or until they colour slightly on top. Pull them out and let them cool. And they’re ready to eat.

If you want to make them even tastier, spread some Nutella on the flat side of two macaroons and join them together like a sandwich. I’ll warn you now – they are very more-ish!

Potato chip sandwiches were one of the staple snacks of my youth, so it amazes me that I continue to find people who have never sampled this gourmet delight. It’s not the healthiest bit of cuisine going around, but it’s definitely one of the tastiest.

All you have to do is butter two slices of white bread and put plenty of potato chips between them to make a sandwich. For an extra flavour sensation, add some tomato sauce.
